Gary's enthusiasm for building has never waned. As a teen, Gary joined the forces of Carlson Construction, the family business in Nebraska managed by his parents.
Professionalism and experience in construction stem from solid training under the cultivation of two master craftsmen, his father and grandfather.
Serving in the Nebraska National Guard was his only venture away from construction.
Upon completion of a six-year term of service, it was back to Nebraska to join his father and brother in the family company.
In 1973, Gary made the decision to move his young family to Naples Florida and pursue his dream of his own construction company. Partnering with Alden Harris in 1974, he founded Carlson & Harris General Contractors, Inc.
The company was immediately successful due to Gary's ability to create a comfortable bond with most anyone and his high level of integrity.
As Naples became his new home, Gary distinguished himself within the community with many years of dedicated service and contributions to the charitable and civic associations.
Under Gary's continued leadership, Carlson & Harris consistently provides a product and a standard of service superior to the competition.
Gary's primary focus, as President of Carlson & Harris, is on business development and customer satisfaction. He maintains close and long standing relationships with customers and has assembled highly qualified people to ensure the customer's confidence in Carlson & Harris.

Chris L. Carlson
Vice President, and the head of residential construction for Carlson & Harris
Chris Carlson, following in his father's footsteps, started as a laborer for his dad while still in middle school.
Over the next 15 years Chris learned and progressed through the positions of carpenter's helper, carpenter, foreman, superintendent to his present position as Vice President.
Chris has hands-on educations and an extensive background on a wide variety of residential and commercial construction projects ranging from $100,000 to well over $10 million.
Known for his willingness to tackle any size project, he is an enthusiastic, energetic member of the company. |
Ricky (Ric) Carlson
Secretary / Treasurer
Ric Carlson grew up during the time when his dad had taken over the family construction business upon his grandfather's death. When he reached an age that he could participate, he worked for his dad and along side his brother Gary.
Ric went on to attend Kearney State College in Kearney Nebraska earning a BA in education. He served six years in the Nebraska National Guard and also as Madison County Tax Appraiser.
But the family tradition of construction was in his blood. Because of this calling he opened and operated a paint and hardware store. During this time, Ric also performed a good bit of remodeling work in his home state of Nebraska.
In 1979, he and his wife and young family joined his parents and his brother's family by relocating to Naples.
First joining Carlson & Harris as a superintendent, he now works in estimating, project scheduling, and preliminary budgeting in addition to overseeing office operations and his duties as Corporate Secretary and Treasurer. |
